International Affiliated Instructors

NCNU International Affiliated Instructors: Real People, Real Life, Real Learning
Agile mobility equips students with abundant energy and empowers them to navigate their course through an ever-changing world. English communication skill is the cornerstone of this mobility. With English-speaking confidence, students can transport themselves globally and reach their dream destination. In Taiwan, there are many students who may be intimidated by speaking English. Unfortunately, this tendency weakens their willingness and self-learning ability, and it jeopardizes their ability to march toward their dream career. In view of this, the NCNU Language and Research Center has implemented online, interactive English lessons to help students cultivate their potential in English.
Class One: Global View
This interactive online class focuses on sharing news events or daily life stories from North America and Taiwan. The first half of the class is a teacher-oriented presentation. The instructor will introduce some international news or interesting human interest stories to students. Then, the instructor will present useful vocabulary and sentence patterns to the students. The second half of the class is student-oriented participation. Students will demonstrate what they’ve learned by sharing news or life stories of their own. This approach gives them the chance to learn what happens outside of their local area, and they are also given an opportunity to present themselves to the outside world. The content includes events which are related to climate change, animal protection (especially pangolins), gender equality, and water resources.
Class Two: Life in the West
Life in the West introduces Northern American life and culture. The instructor will start each class with a short video that reveals some aspects of life in North America. Then, the instructor will guide students to participate in conversation and sharing so that they can gain some understanding of the different lifestyles and values. This class provides a solid foundation for building global mobility and perspectives. Topics include the following:
