2026 National Chi Nan University International Student Advanced Chinese Speech Contest: From the Heart: The Chinese-Speaking World I See

Competition Rules

一、宗旨：

為深耕本校高階華語教學成效，鼓勵境外生從單純的「語言學習者」蛻變為「文化觀察者」，語文教學中心華語文教學組特別規劃「從心發現：我看見的華語世界」進階華語演講競賽。

本活動旨在提供一個具備廣度與深度的論述平台，引導 B1 級以上之進階學習者，重新審視其在學習華語歷程中的內在體悟。參賽者需透過自撰講稿，分享在語言磨練與異文化衝擊下，如何「從心」出發，發現華語世界中獨特的思維模式、人文溫度或社會價值，並論述其認為學習過程中最深刻且重要的一段收穫。

本競賽不僅旨在鍛鍊境外生的高階口語敘事與跨文化轉譯能力，更期盼透過多元視角的真摯分享，促進校內師生對異國文化與華語世界交織後的深度對話，厚植境外生之學思素養與國際溝通競爭力。

Purpose:

To enhance the effectiveness of advanced Chinese language instruction and encourage international students to transform from “language learners” into “cultural observers,” the Chinese Language Division of the Language Teaching Center organizes the Advanced Chinese Speech Contest, “From the Heart: The Chinese-Speaking World I See.”

This event provides a platform for learners at B1 level and above to reflect on their Chinese learning experiences. Participants are required to compose their own speeches, sharing their insights into the Chinese-speaking world, including ways of thinking, cultural perspectives, and meaningful learning experiences.

The competition aims to strengthen students’ advanced oral expression and cross-cultural communication skills, while promoting meaningful dialogue and enhancing their global competence.

二、主辦單位：國立暨南國際大學語文教學中心華語文教學組

三、比賽時間：2026年5月13日14:50~16:30。
　　Time: May 13, 2026, 13:30–14:50

四、比賽地點：圖資大樓多功能演講廳

　　Venue: Multi-functional Lecture Hall, Library and Information Building

五、參賽資格與對象：

1.  對象：本校各系所境外學位生、交換生及語文教學中心華語班學員。

2.  語言背景限制： 參賽者之母語須非中文（含華語、各類漢語方言）。

註：若國籍為華裔，或曾就讀於以中文為主要教學語言之學校者，需經由授課教師或主辦單位審核認定其參賽資格，以維護競賽公平性。         

3.  程度限制： 華語程度 B1 進階級（含）以上者。

4.  認定標準：

(1) 已通過正式華語檢定（如 TOCFL、HSK 等）等級為 B1 級（含）以上。

(2) 未參加正式檢定者，依其目前在校修習之華語課程等級為準，並由授課教師依學生實際能力分配與推薦報名。

Eligibility and Target Participants:

1.  Eligible Participants:

International degree students, exchange students, and Chinese language students enrolled in the Language Teaching Center of the University.

2.  Language Background Requirement:

Participants must be non-native speakers of Chinese (including Mandarin and other Chinese dialects).

Note: Applicants of Chinese descent or those who have previously studied in institutions where Chinese is the primary language of instruction must have their eligibility reviewed and approved by their instructor or the organizing committee to ensure fairness of the competition.

3.  Proficiency Requirement:

Participants must have a Chinese proficiency level of B1 (Intermediate) or above.

4.  Assessment Criteria:

(1) Those who have passed an official Chinese proficiency test (e.g., TOCFL, HSK, etc.) at Level B1 or above.

(2) Those who have not taken an official test will be evaluated based on their current Chinese course level at the University, with placement and recommendation for participation determined by their instructor according to their actual proficiency.

六、報名日期：即日起至2026年4月23日 17:00 止。

After completing the registration form, a confirmation email will be sent, which will include the participant ID and a link to upload the speech script.

八、競賽主題與內容：

1.  演講主題：【從心發現：我看見的華語世界】。

2.  撰稿要求： 參賽者需針對主題自行撰寫講稿，內容應著重於個人學習感悟、深刻的文化觀察，以及在學習過程中所體悟到的重要價值。

3.  講稿繳交： 講稿電子檔需於2026年5月6日 17:00 前上傳至指定表單。逾時未上傳者，視同放棄參賽資格。

Competition Theme and Content:

1.  Speech Topic: From the Heart: The Chinese-Speaking World I See

2.  Speech Requirements: Participants must write their own speech based on the given theme. The content should focus on personal learning experiences, in-depth cultural observations, and important insights gained throughout the learning process.

3.  Submission of Speech Script: The electronic version of the speech script must be uploaded to the designated form by 17:00 on May 6, 2026. Failure to submit on time will be regarded as a withdrawal from the competition.

九、比賽辦法：

1.  為維持競賽公平與展現演說實力，參賽者不得攜帶任何文稿或提示卡上臺。

2.  比賽當日請於 14:30 ~ 14:50 完成報到。14:50 唱名二次未到者，視同棄權。

3.  比賽鈴響即開始計時。限時 4 分鐘，3 分 30 秒時響鈴一聲（提醒）；4 分鐘時響鈴二聲（結束），參賽者須立即停止演講並離開講臺。若演講長度未達 3 分 30 秒，每少 30 秒扣總分 1 分（少於 30 秒仍以 30 秒計）。

4.  比賽報名人數若超過12人，需進行預賽。預賽詳細辦法將於2026年4月24日在語文中心網頁公布。

Competition Rules:

1.  To ensure fairness and demonstrate true speaking ability, participants are not allowed to bring any scripts or cue cards on stage.

2.  On the day of the competition, participants must complete check-in between 14:30 and 14:50. Those who fail to appear after being called twice at 14:50 will be considered to have withdrawn.

3.  Timing begins when the bell rings. Each speech is limited to 4 minutes. A single bell will ring at 3 minutes and 30 seconds (reminder), and two bells will ring at 4 minutes (end). Participants must stop speaking immediately and leave the stage. If the speech is shorter than 3 minutes and 30 seconds, 1 point will be deducted from the total score for every 30 seconds short (any duration less than 30 seconds will still be counted as 30 seconds).

4.  If the number of registered participants exceeds 12, a preliminary round will be held. Detailed information about the preliminary round will be announced on the Language Center website on April 24, 2026.

十、評分標準：

1.  發音及語調 40%、流利度 30%、肢體語言 10%、台風、服裝及整體表現 20%。

2.  若遇分數相同者，依發音及語調、流利度、肢體語言、台風及整體表現，順位評比得分。若前述分數仍相同，則由評審討論後決定名次。 

Evaluation Criteria:

1.  Pronunciation and intonation (40%), fluency (30%), body language (10%), stage presence, attire, and overall performance (20%).

2.  In the event of a tie, scores will be compared in the following order: pronunciation and intonation, fluency, body language, and stage presence and overall performance. If the scores remain the same, the final ranking will be determined through discussion by the judges.

十一、獎勵方式：

取第一名1名、第二名1名，第三名1名，現場觀眾獎5名。

Awards:

One First Prize, one Second Prize, one Third Prize, and five Audience Choice Awards will be presented.

十二、本辦法若有未盡事宜，主辦單位得適時修正補充之，並於比賽前公告說明。

Supplementary Provisions:

Any matters not covered in these guidelines may be revised or supplemented by the organizing unit as necessary, and will be announced prior to the competition.
