115-1 2026 NCNU English Singing Contest

Event Overview

Showcase your vocal talent and English proficiency! The 115-1 NCNU English Singing Contest is now open for registration. Shine in the finals, and win the prizes!

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled students of National Chi Nan University.

  • Restriction: Participants must not have resided in countries where English is an official or native language for 3 years or more.

Key Dates & Venue

  • Preliminary Round Submission: Oct 12, 2026 (Mon) 09:00 – Oct 21, 2026 (Wed) 12:00

  • Finalist Announcement: By Oct 23, 2026 (Fri) 17:00 on the LTC website (Top 6 advance to finals)

  • Finals Audio Track Deadline: Oct 28, 2026 (Wed) 12:00

  • Final Competition: Oct 31, 2026 (Sat) 11:00–12:00 (NCNU Anniversary Celebration)

  • Finals Venue: Auditorium, Student Activity Center

Contest Rules

1. Online Preliminary Round

  • Open to both individuals and groups (no limit on group size).

  • Song Requirement: One self-selected English song; repetitive or non-English lyrics must not exceed 1/3 of the song.

  • Video Specs: 40–60 seconds of a cappella singing (total video length under 1 minute), .mp4 format, showing a clear, front-facing view of the participant's face.

  • Submit the video link (with view access enabled) or file before the preliminary deadline.

2. Live Finals

  • Perform one complete English song within a 5-minute time limit.

  • Send your backing track to the LTC email by Oct 28 (Wed) 12:00. If using live instrument accompaniment, please submit the song title by the same deadline.

  • Contestants will perform according to their finalist numbers. Failure to appear after 3 roll calls will be considered a forfeit.

  • Top 3 winners will be chosen by the judges. The on-site audience will vote for the "Most Popular Award" (if tied, the prize money will be split equally).

Judging Criteria

  • Pronunciation & Singing Technique: 60%

  • Stage Presence: 20%

  • Costume & Styling: 20%

Awards & Prizes

  • 1st Place: NT$ 8,000 and a Certificate

  • 2nd Place: NT$ 5,000 and a Certificate

  • 3rd Place: NT$ 3,000 and a Certificate

  • Most Popular Award: NT$ 2,000 and a Certificate

  • Honorable Mention: NT$ 1,000 and a Certificate

    • Complete online registration through the Solo Entry Portal and paste your video link in the remarks field (ensure access permissions are public).

    • If no link is available, complete online registration first, then email your .mp4 file to englishcorner.ncnu@gmail.com.

  • 【Group Category】:

    • Every member must register individually online to earn points.

    • Please select one team leader and indicate “Team member of XXX (Team Leader)” in the Remarks section.
